During the months of November and December, when due to the thaws, the water levels in the lakes and rivers rise, big trout can be found. At the beginning of autumn, in the months of March and April, the time of year when the reds, greens and yellows of the foliage combine, it is usual to fish large trout that go from the lake to the river to spawn.
Puerto Blest is one of the most attractive fishing spots at Nahuel Huapi Lake, both for trolling or fly fishing.
It is a sector not so navigated by anglers and less by fly fishermen, since the exuberant vegetation shrinks the coasts and leaves little margin to move there. This contributes to a very good quality fishing in terms of the size of the pieces and also in quantity, based on the lower fishing pressure than in other sectors of the lake.
